Bently Agrowdynamics upholds the Carson Valley’s and the West’s long cattle ranching tradition by running a finely tuned, cow-calf and yearling operation as a component of its overall operation. With roughly 1,000 head of Angus and Hereford based mother cows bred to Angus, Hereford, and Charolais bulls as the base of the cowherd. These cattle summer on 3,000 acres of private irrigated and Forest Service managed high mountain meadows in both California and Nevada. These same cattle winter in California west of Red Bluff. Bently Agrowdynamics also utilizes 300 smaller crossbred mother cows to utilize the high desert and mountains of the Pine Nut range in combination of private ground and Bureau of Land Management managed lands. The cowherds utilize acreage that is not suited or available for propagated crops.
Through the use of technology of artificial insemination and natural breeding, Bently Agrowdynamics cattle yield a strong annual calf crop that is marketed to ranches and feedlots throughout the United States. Our Angus based cattle are bred to be the top-of-the-line premium beef. The cattle are selected and bred for a high weight-gain to a low feed input ratio and for a large muscle mass to low back fat ratio. All of the cattle at Bently Agrowdynamics are selected and bred to be the most efficient type of cattle to fit the different environments that are utilized from high mountain ranges to desert type situations to produce a high quality beef product.
Bently Agrowdynamics also engages in leasing arrangements with other ranchers to utilize excess grass and feed. In 2006 Bently Agrowdynamics hosted 1850 yearlings and 350 cow-calf pairs. Combined with Bently Agrowdynamics herds, this brings the population of cattle on Bently Agrowdynamics managed lands to 3,650 head.
